The tan Elk Hair Caddis has always been a popular fly in the Great Smoky Mountains and all around the Southern Appalachians. Many fly fishermen buy and use this fly. Caddis with light colored bodies inhabit the streams of North America and tan seems to a very primary color for imitations. We know, there is something about tan and these mountain trout.
