Baetis or Blue Wing Olives (BWO) are common on many rivers, freestone streams, spring creeks and tailwaters all over the United States. At times, the hatches can be huge, with trout rising as far as you can see on the river where you are fishing. In the Smoky Mountains we have Blue Wing Olive hatches during the late Fall, Winter and Spring months for the most part. We sell many different Blue Wing Oliver patterns for the fly fisherman to use on most waters.
