The Blue Dun Dry Fly is a “must have” pattern when fly fishing in the Great Smoky Mountains or other regions in the early Spring. Early Spring in the Smokies may come as early as February but more often in March. Water temperature dictates when the early mayflies hatch. You are likely to do well with this fly when Quill Gordons and Blue Quills are hatching.
