Most anglers are familiar with mayfly called a Dark Hendrickson that hatches in the Smokies in the Spring. You may see these mayflies on the water with other early flies such as the Quill Gordon or Blue Quill. Or they may hatch later and in some years they appear in April.

The Dark Hendrickson is a large mayfly, normally found in sizes #12 or #14. They offer trout a good food source in many freestone streams including the Southern Appalachians and Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

 This is a dry fly that you should have in your collection if you fish in the Spring.
