Fishpond’s Hailstorm Soft Cooler is an upgrade of the original to coordinate with the company’s luggage collection. The addition of a quick access hatch on the top allows you to reach in and grab a drink without letting out too much of the cold. I own an older model, it has been and still is my favorite large cooler.

Both Fishpond soft sided coolers, the Blizzard and Hailstorm, keep your food and beverages cold for hours. They reduce weight in your boat, canoe or kayak. We fill ours with gear when we go on a long drive on a fishing trip in our truck. Then, we use it as a cooler when we arrive and go fishing. When it is not a cooler, it is a padded gear bag.

Open the main zipper and pack it with food, drinks and ice. The Hail Storm holds a enough for two anglers, fishing all day. The Hail Storm soft cooler has an interior volume of 2,400 cubic inches, over twice that of the Blizzard Cooler.

We always freeze water bottles to use as ice and to drink later as they thaw. If you have some full bottles left after fishing all day, re-freeze and use them next time.

The Fishpond Hailstorm Cooler features one large zipper, with two sliders, that allows you to open it completely. The two slider design lets you open just one corner, or one end, to access the cooler, without opening the lid completely, letting the cold air escape.

There are lash points to attach tools or other essential. You can carry this cooler using the two handles on the end, the main carrying handle in the middle on top, or using the included shoulder strap. Two people can carry the Hailstorm using the side handles.
