CDC works great on dry flies due to its natural buoyant qualities. CDC come from the oil glands on ducks which help the feathers repel water. You can make bodies and wings out of CDC. CDC easily goes into dubbing loops which you can use to build up bodies on caddis dry flies. CDC is perfect for soft hackle as well. It can be wrapped like a hackle or partridge feather.
