We have been selling Lefty Kreh’s strike indicators for many years and some anglers won’t use any other yarn indicator. They float without extra floatant applications. Lefty is a friend of mine, and I asked him when he came up with this idea. He told me but I can’t remember. It has been a while since I asked and much longer than that since these indicators became available to fly fishermen.

You get 24” of material in each pack. The yarn is double wound. Some fishermen use only one of the two strands for light rigs. You simply cut off a piece and tie it to your leader. Refer to the illustration below to find out how to use this indicator. The yarn is also bio-degradable. Adjustment on your leader is easy.

Some anglers use this material to tie hopper bodies.

The material is normally sold in a plastic canister. We remove the canister to save shipping costs, since we pay the ground shipping. We ship them flat, in the original packaging.

This wool yarn is treated with Lefty’s secret floatant, and we do not know what it is. We do know it works.

If you use yarn indicators, you should give Lefty’s Secret Little Waterproofed Strike Indicator a try. After that, I don’t think you will buy other yarn strike indicators.
