Mike’s Magic Beetle is a fly fishing terrestrial dry fly, designed by Mike Adams, a fly fishing guide in East Tennessee. This is one of our best selling flies, for use in the Smoky Mountains during the warm months. Similar to other terrestrials designed by Mike, the Magic Beetle has a black bead tied in on the bottom of the hook. That makes the fly ride upright consistently. Also, the bead adds more flash. We know this beetle pattern works well and recommend it to our customers during the Summer and early Fall, before the first freeze.
