The Orvis Hydros Trout fly line is the most versatile weight forward trout taper offered by Orvis. This fly line incorporates five technological advances. Each is designed to make your trout fly fishing experience more enjoyable and productive.

The tapers have been revised this year. The Hydros Trout has an innovative weight forward taper combined with a slightly larger line diameter to produce a line that is ideal at close to medium casting ranges, where most trout are hooked and caught. The Hydros Trout has a longer head than traditional weight forward lines.

The core is made from braided multifilament and provides excellent performance over a wide range of conditions.

The Hydros Trout features the Hy-Flote Tip which is made using Micro-balloons concentrated in the front of the line to produce high floating tips.

The new Orvis Line ID is found on the new Hydros Trout Lines. You can quickly and easily identify your line, no more guessing. The lines are printed with the taper, weight and functionality right on the line coating.

With a new and improved Wonderline coating, the latest generation is 30% slicker than the previous generation, resulting in the slickest fly lines on the market. These lines cast farther with less effort and produce higher line speeds to cut through the wind and improve accuracy. Additionally this coating repels dirt and grime, picks up off the water easier, improves floatation and reduces tangles. This Orvis exclusive, patented process is applied at the Orvis facility in Manchester, Vermont.

New sleek and durable welded loops make leader attachment quick and easy while holding up to repeated use. The Welded Loops help transfer energy more efficiently to the leader allowing better turnover.

Orvis Hydros Trout Weight Forward fly lines are available in weights 3 through 6.
