Orvis's micro-texturing technology greatly increases the surface area of the fly line, which allows it to float higher in the surface film--thus reducing drag and water spray, which in turn allows for easier pick-ups and mending. The micro-textured surface traps air in tiny micro-bubbles, which reduces friction and allows smoother line shooting; while also improving flotation. The 50' head has a gentle front taper followed by a powerful belly to enable easy casting and delicate presentation, while the longer rear taper is designed to give the fly fisher superb line control, casting, and on-water mending.
