The Quasimodo Pheasant Tail is at home in the Southern Appalachians, Great Smoky Mountains and your favorite tailwater trout fishery. This is one great nymph. Don’t let the small size fool you. These flies fool trout too.

Pheasant tail fibers make some of the best trout flies we know of. The English Bead Head Pheasant Tail has always been one of our most productive nymphs. The Quasimodo is a short stubby Pheasant Tail with a copper bead.

This is a year-round nymph in the Smokies and elsewhere. The small size is especially productive in over-fished tailwaters and low water freestone stream conditions. This fly comes to us from Umpqua Feather Merchants and it is tied on one of their Tiemco hooks, the 2488 H. This fly should be in your fly box.
