Redington’s Zero Fly Fishing Reel reaches out to fly fishermen who use light rods, and desire a light reel to complete their outfit. Made specifically with trout fishermen in mind, the Zero breaks all the traditional rules to bring new designs to the stream. These new designs have a purpose, to build a strong, light, machine with close tolerance usually found in much higher priced reels. The Zero has no disk drag. It is made for small rods.

The Zero can’t be machined due to the angles of the supporting infrastructure. The inherent strength due to the way this reel is designed, adds strength without weight. Less metal equates to less weight. The bends and angles can’t be made on a CNC machine. Therefore, the reel is cast, from aluminum.

The Redington Zero is a large arbor reel, to minimize fly line curling and aid in fast line retrieval.

The Zero is the lightest reel in its class. The spool can be quickly changed by pushing one button. The clicker drag system is spring loaded and smooth. This reel can easily be converted from left to right hand. The ergonomic handles are molded using a soft-touch polymer. A nylon reel case is included. The reel comes with a lifetime warranty from Redington.
