Fly Fishermen found a way to change their opinion about what to do with their wading staff, while they are casting and fishing. Simms figured out the solution. The wading staff retractor has been an essential component of their staffs for many years.
Here is how it works:
When you wade, you remove your Simms wading staff from the sheath. Your staff is connected to this retractor and attached to your belt, vest or pack.
The retractor allows you to reach 3 feet, with your staff while wading.
When you stop to fish, the retractor pulls the handle of your wading staff, close to your body, where it remains, until you start wading again.
The shaft of the staff will not be carried away by the current in the stream. It stays out of your way.
When you leave the water, the Simms Wading Staff can be collapsed, but you may keep the retractor connected, until the next time you enter the water.
This gizmo is incredible.
Price: $24.95 and well worth it.
