Walt’s Poppers, were made by Walt Cary of Virginia, and sold to fly fishing shops in America. I remember many conversations with Walt, during the years we bought his poppers. I fished with them, and still have some stored away, just to save.

Today, Walt’s Poppers are made by the Solitude Fly Company, and to me, they look exactly like the ones we bought from Walt, before he retired. They are great smallmouth bass poppers, and they work well for largemouth bass.

The Fire Tiger color, was new to us years ago. But, it caught on as anglers reported great catches using them, and bought more. Other companies, making different types of flies, adopted the Fire Tiger color, which is typically a mixture of chartreuse, orange and black.
