The Murdich Minnow is hailed as one of the best Smallmouth Bass flies by some experts I know. One of them is a professional smallmouth bass guide, Josh Pfeiffer. He and his clients use this fly often and catch some big smallies on it. Josh rates the Murdich Minnow as one of his top 5 smallmouth bass flies. This fly was invented as a striper fly, and does a great job catching them as well.

I have not used them much, but I intend to. I think I’ve been missing out, so to speak.

I think the copper color would work best in slightly turbid or high nutrient waters.
